If you are a new to Lake Anna, let us first welcome you to this beautiful and exciting area, which is centrally located between Washington D.C., Richmond and Charlottesville! If you are returning to Lake Anna, welcome back! Lake Anna, created in 1972, is a beautiful freshwater lake with lots of activities to offer. The lake is approximately 13,000 surface acres of water and 250 miles of shoreline. There are two "sides" of the lake, each with it's own benefits. The public side (also referred to as the "main lake") is approximately 10,000 acres. There are multiple marinas to fuel up at, as well as waterfront restaurants to dock and eat at. The private side is approximately 3,000 acres. On the private side of the lake, there aren't any marinas. You cannot boat between the public and private sides. Also, since there aren't any marinas, only property owners have access to the lake on that side. Only you can decide which side is best for you! There is lots of activities. Shopping, swimming, sailing, fishing, boating, wake boarding, skiing or tubing, numerous wineries, golf course, antique shops and the Lake Anna State Park provide entertainment for everyone!
